Let me come in and speak to your organisation or class about my research and views on fan engagement!

Industry:

Does your organisation work with fans? Curious about fan-centric marketing, fan engagement, and/or loyalty strategies that understand the actual desires of fans? I’m available for corporate speaking gigs and workshops, so please reach out!

Academic:

I’ve previously provided guest lectures to undergraduate sociology students, however am also available to present to students in related disciplines such as media studies, gender studies, and/or cultural studies, and can also speak to high school classes on alternative career paths and following your passions.

Media Commentary

Are you a journalist looking for an expert to comment on celebrity fan culture? I’m your girl! My speciality is Taylor Swift, but I can also speak to fandom and fan culture more broadly. I have appeared on live television, radio, podcasts, and in print across a range of local and international titles (ABC TV, ABC Online, ABC Radio National, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Canberra Times, The Times London, and Time Magazine, just to name a few), and am more than happy to help you out (pending time zone requirements!)

Qualitative Focus Groups

I believe in the power of speaking to fans instead of speaking about them. Fans aren’t a monolith, and they want to feel valued, especially if you’re asking them to spend significant amounts of money on your brand. Using my academic research experience, I can help you conduct interviews and focus groups with your fans to discover the best ways to create value and loyalty on both sides of the relationship.

Survey Analytics

When you need feedback from a large number of fans, a survey can be your best friend. I’m experienced in crafting surveys targeting specific fan groups using tone and content they’re most likely to positively engage with. A mix of closed and open ended questions can create an invaluable data bank for your organisation on how you can best engage with your fans.

VIP Fan Experience Management

My greatest passion lies in VIP Fan Experiences. My key research interest is in fan-celebrity meet and greets, and I also have a significant amount of industry experience within this space. I understand what it is that fans are looking for from these experiences, and what is likely to get them to spend the most money without walking away disappointed. I’m also skilled in talent handling and event management, to truly run these experiences from implementation to conclusion.

Not all VIP Fan Experiences are talent based, and I also am able to provide insight and management in other forms of fan events.

Community Management

The key place you’ll find your fans is on the internet. There is a fine line, however between interacting with your fans on social media, and having them feel like you’re out of touch and exploiting their fandom participation. I have both researched fan social media use in an academic context, participated in it as a fan, and helped manage it within industry, and so I am perfectly situated to help provide your organisation with the voice, plans, and implementation required to have a successfully managed brand community.
