Hi! I’m Georgia!

I’ve been a fan for as long as I can remember, participating in fandom communities for books, television shows, sports teams, musicians, and a whole bunch of things in between. I’ve met countless friends, travelled the world, cried in public, and gotten a tattoo or three because of these fandoms, and they’ve honestly been some of the best parts of my life.

Along the way, I discovered that I could turn these passions into a career, and over the past eight years I’ve simultaneously worked in academic fan and celebrity studies, while also working in fan-centric publicity for major entertainment and publishing companies.

For more about my professional experience, check out my “My Work” and “CV” pages.

On a more personal note, you can find me in Sydney, Australia, although I dream of one day living somewhere with a much higher rain-sunshine ratio. I consider KFC to be a food group, don’t believe in using capital letters in texts or on social media, and am known for my well-stocked snack drawer at work. I love caffeine and naps in equal amounts, and my last meal would be chicken and waffles with honey mustard sauce and maple syrup.

I also like to confuse people by simultaneously being known as Georgia and Georgie, but to make it easier for everyone, you can just call me Gee.

I’m glued to technology, so come say hi to me on Twitter!
